Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about JavaScript deobfuscation.

What is a JavaScript beautifier?
A JavaScript beautifier formats minified or poorly formatted code with proper indentation, line breaks, and spacing to make it readable.
What's the difference between beautifying and deobfuscating?
Beautifying only reformats code structure. Deobfuscating goes deeper — it decodes encoded strings, resolves string arrays, and simplifies the tricks obfuscators use to hide what code does.
Does it change my code logic?
No. Beautifying is a pure formatting operation. It only changes whitespace, line breaks, and indentation — never the code logic.
Is my code sent to a server?
No. Beautifying runs in your browser with Prettier, so your code isn't uploaded. (The one exception: if your browser can't run the formatter at all, it falls back to formatting on our server.) Deobfuscation does use our server, where code runs in an isolated sandbox and is never stored.
